Metro Technicals Limited is a subsidiary of Gramet Group of Companies, a diversified and wholly-owned Nigerian multi-disciplinary business group with interests in civil engineering constructions, railway engineering and services, dredging and general engineering works, manufacturing, real estate, maritime, oil and gas, telecommunications, capital market and international trade.
Originally established as an engineering, information technology, and telecoms company, Metro Technicals became a member of a group of companies following business growth and expansion
The resultant strategic and professional realignments within the group hived out the telecoms and IT segment of Metro's business to its sister company, Grand Communications Ltd. This group arrangement has enabled Metro to acquire and develop core competence and competitive advantage in civil engineering construction, railway engineering and services, and general engineering works.
As a member of a financially strong and profitable group of companies, Metro Technicals Limited has ready and sustainable access to adequate financial resources to support its projects effectively.
The company boasts of a balanced workforce with a mix of young, older but experienced, and highly motivated professionals with strong goal-orientation in its various operating and technical departments. Being youthful and achievement-driven, we pursue every project with uncompromising commitment, passion, sense of professionalism and patriotism.
The internal workforce is complemented by an eclectic pool with a distinctive pedigree of external consultants who can be accessed at short notice for inclusion in project teams on a need basis.
It is our policy in Metro Technicals Limited to pursue best-in-class practice and to balance project teams in terms of mix of expertise, and this has been the single most important defining factor in our success as a corporate entity.
The company's strategic goal is to contribute to the growth of our economy through the development of local engineering expertise using our own locally trained and educated engineers as far as possible. Our success in this crucial strategic intent is underscored by the fact that we have handled a significant number of projects for the Nigerian Railways, several road construction projects at federal and state levels.
Our excellent services and long-standing relationship with the Nigerian Railway Corporation over the years have earned us commendations and brilliant testimonials, particularly with regard to the relatively low cost and uncompromising quality of our work.
Our standard of work compares favourably with that of the international construction giant, Julius Berger. Indeed, Metro Technicals Limited has acquired the reputation of being referred to as the 'Julius Berger of the Nigerian Railway Corporation', a reference borne out of the genuine expression of the consistent quality of our service. This is authentic and verifiable.
It is appropriate to mention here that we, being the foremost indigenous rail engineering company, have garnered significant in-depth knowledge, experience and expertise in Railway Constructions, and have competed favourably well with Julius Berger (JB) and Chinese Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC) on rail construction projects.
Like our competitors in rail construction projects, JB and CCECC, whose track records in road construction is well known, Metro Technicals Ltd has proven experience and the requisite equipment, technology, and manpower to deliver road construction projects of any magnitude at a very high standards.
Unlike our competitors who cite international rates as justification for their usually high cost, our pricing policy is anchored on our indigenous philosophy and overarching vision of providing quality engineering services at affordable and competitive rates. This is a unique selling point which invariably gives us a distinctive strategic advantage.
